Uniform Policy

Appropriate clothing and dress encourages responsible behavior. We expect all students to comply with clothing regulations. The key words regarding appearance are “neatness” and “modesty”. Students are required to wear appropriate clothing according to the situation and the grade level involved. Inappropriate clothing and appearance are disruptive to the school program and principal will enforce adherence to this policy. School administrators have final authority to decide if clothing complies with school rules.

No other aspect of our Christian testimony is as readily noticeable as our dress. 

General Dress Code Policy Requirements

  • Appropriate Sizes

    Students shall wear clothing of appropriate size as determined by the principal or designee exercising his or her judgment. The size of shirts and pants shall be appropriate to the student’s body size and shall not be unduly oversized or undersized.

  • Shirts

    Shirts shall be tucked into the waistband of the pants or skirt. Exceptions will be allowed for students in grades K and 1 and in individual cases based upon the discretion of the principal or designee.

  • Pants

    Pants with belt loops shall be worn with a belt that is properly fastened. Pants shall be worn so that the waistband is worn at the waist and not below the waist. Exceptions will be allowed for students in grades K and 1 and in individual cases based upon the discretion of the principal or designee.

  • Skirts and Dresses

    The hem of skirts or dresses shall extend to mid-thigh. The principal’s or designee’s determination as to the appropriate length of the skirts and dresses shall be determinative and final.

  • Shoes/Footwear

    All students shall wear shoes/footwear. Elementary and Middle School shoes/footwear shall be closed toe and heel athletic shoes and other footwear appropriate to a student’s class schedule involving physical activities including but not limited to Physical Education, etc., so as to protect the entire foot. Platforms and shoes with wheels, steel-toed footwear, stiletto type footwear or excessive heel height may not be allow.

All students must wear uniform shirts with RCA logo. Shirt tails must be tucked in at all times while on campus. They should be tucked in prior to arriving at school, and remain tucked in until after leaving school property. This includes school functions and games.

K thru 5th – Navy Blue Polo
6th thru 8th – Yellow Polo
9th thru 12th – Red Polo

Only Navy Blue sweaters and/ or Jackets (no pullovers or hooded sweat shirts). No oversized clothing, or ill-fitting clothing (i.e.: too small). Solid white or navy blue turtleneck shirts may be worn under uniform shirts on cool weather days.

All students must wear all black shoes with your daily uniform and all black with your P. E.  Uniform
Black or navy blue socks.
No striped and other colored socks will be permitted

***No boots, skater shoes (Vans), oversized shoes, sandals, canvas, slip-on with no backs, boat or deck shoes***

All students must wear uniform style pants
VPK thru 5th thru 12th                  Black Pants

Cold Weather P.E. Uniform: All students may wear ONLY Navy blue sweat shirt purchased through the school in place of the P.E. Uniform T-shirt.  All students may wear only Navy Blue Jackets or sweaters during the school day.

Girls can wear skirt or jumper
K thru 5th                  Khaki
6th thru 12th                  Black
**Wear solid colored navy blue or white stockings or may wear leggings under the skirts**.

***ALL GIRLS MUST WEAR SHORTS UNDERNEATH THE JUMPER OR SKIRT AT ALL TIMES***

Black solid colored belts
only one (1) necklace and one (1) bracelet, one (1) ring will be permitted.
Nothing can be hanging from pockets, belt loops or belts.
No earrings for boys are allowed.
Girls: Earrings must be of standard size (no more than 1” in diameter) and worn only in the ear lobes.
No more than one earring per ear.
No sweatbands, rubber bands or other items not meant as appropriate jewelry.

P.E. Uniform: All students may wear ONLY Navy blue PE Uniform purchased through the school.
Navy blue PE Polyester Shirt with PE Short or long pants (Navy Blue ) with the school logo.

Section 1001.43, Florida Statutes, stipulates additional powers that authorize the School Board to adopt policies to ensure the safety and welfare of the student body and school personnel. The School Board may require uniforms to be worn by the student body or impose other dress-related requirements if the School Board finds that these requirements are necessary for the safety and welfare of the student body.

If there is a uniform violation, the student will be sent home or a change of clothes will need to be brought to the student. The student will not be permitted back into class until the change of clothing is received. Therefore, your child will not be marked present until they have been changed and will then be marked Tardy.

The administration of RCA reserves the right to determine the appropriateness or inappropriateness of the clothing, hairstyles, or any other portion of the dress code, and any actions to correct the problem.
